CURRICULUM VITAE

My teaching philosophy:

My teaching philosophy is based on the premise that teaching and learning go in tandem for both the teacher and the student.  One cannot continue being an effective teacher if one is not willing to learn.  This process of teaching and learning in my mind takes place throughout the life cycle. There is no point where one can claim to have all the knowledge they need, and also know how to impart that knowledge.  The latter then requires changing pedagogies depending on the context, and also keeping abreast of current social trends and technologies.

The ultimate goal in my teaching is to empower students through knowledge, to leave an imprint no matter how small in their lives and the world they live in; and to broaden their horizons beyond what they consider to be a given, through probing, challenging, and intellectual inquiry.
