Residence Hall Description
New Hall houses 403 junior and senior students in single and double rooms found within 3-, 4-, and 6-person apartments. The laundry room is located on the first floor just off the main lobby. It includes several high efficiency washers and dryers. Only high efficiency detergent should be used in the washers. Vending machines are located in the laundry room as well as on each floor of the building.

Jen is in her fifth year here at Westfield State College working as a Residence Director. Prior to coming to Westfield, Jen earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and her Master of Business Administration from Salem State College. While at Salem State Jen served as a Community Development Specialist as well as an Assistant Residence Director. Upon arriving at Westfield Jen served as the Residence Director of Dickinson Hall for four years until moving over to New Hall this past summer. Jen has taught First Year Experience, worked to establish a Senior Reality Program for graduating students, and chaired a large regional conference on Westfield's campus in the summer of 2008.

The New Residence Hall opened in 2005.

Our newest facility houses 403 students in 3-, 4-, and 6-person suites. Full kitchens, private bathrooms (one in 3- and 4-person units, two in 6-person units), and large bay windows in the living room areas are among the amenities. The New Hall is also the only on-campus residence hall that has air conditioning.

Common areas include a main lounge equipped with a plasma television and one mailbox per student; a multi-purpose room suitable for a variety of academic and social uses; floor television lounges and study rooms; two elevators for student use; and a recreation room.

A unique feature of the New Hall is the glass 'bridge' that connects the residential areas on the second and third floors.
