A Lowell native, Chaitali received a bachelor degree in Rehab Services and masters degree in Rehab Counseling in 2001 and 2003 respectively from Springfield College. Chaitali joined Westfield State College in 2003 and began her Residence Director career in Dickinson Hall. In 2005 Chaitali moved to Scanlon Hall until the summer of 2009 when she moved to the Apartment Complex. Chaitali is best known for her excellent work with the Third World Organization and the acquisition of a NCAA Choices grant to form the very successful Alcohol Choices Education (A.C.E.) program. She is also the advisor for the Class of 2011 and enjoys teaching First Year Experience. Chaitali works on several committees around the college representing the Residential Life department.

Residence Hall History
The Apartment Complex opened in 1975. The three buildings within the Apartment Complex are named after three long-time college administrators:

Francis Conlin - Building 1 facing Juniper Park School
Ceil Seymour - Building 2 facing Western Avenue
Edward Welch - Building 3 facing Scanlon Hall

Coincidentally, the initials of their last names spell WSC. Two of the student apartments are accessible for students with special needs. The laundry area and mailboxes for Apartment Complex residents, as well as the staff offices, are located at the south end of the Dickinson Commons Room and were added when the Apartment Complex was constructed. The courtyard area was redesigned in the early 1980s and the entire Apartment Complext received a comprehensive $2.6 million renovation in 2000-2001.
