Course Requirements: The course will use Plato to help facilitate the learning process. The instructor will go slowly the first week to help students get used to using the Plato system.

Each student will be required to study various management issues on a WEEKLY BASIS;

  1. By Tuesday of each week, each student will complete an end of chapter case about a company that is experiencing a management situation. Students will answer the three questions at the end of each chapter. Every other week, the assignment will be to answer the end of chapter Management Challenge questions instead of the end of chapter case. The goal is to complete one assignment for every Tuesday in the semester.

  1. By Thursday of each week, each student will take a quiz about the weekly chapter. Each quiz will consist of about 20 multiple-choice questions.

  1. The instructor will be online for a chat every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-2:15. The instructor is willing to change one of those meetings if the class has a better time to conduct a chat. A semester long blog will also be available for students to visit a Student Lounge and discuss current management issues.

  1. The textbook comes with a series of lively videos. The videos correspond with each chapter. If needed, students will be able to use the videos for extra credit throughout the semester.

The textbook comes with a dynamic Online Learning Center. The Center can be found at http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0073530123/student_view0/chapter1/multiple_choice_quiz.html. Videos, practice quizzes, flashcards, PowerPoint Presentations, and Chapter Summaries are just some of the exercises found at this learning site.
