Our Mission:

The Owl Club strives to support the needs of our student-athletes through both financial support of the department, and through activities that build team spirit and the visibility and reputation of Westfield State College and its athletic programs.

Central to the Owl Club's efforts on behalf of the Westfield State College athletics program is an underlying philosophy that athletics is an integral part of the college experience, as a participant on the field, court, track or in the pool, and also to the entire College community for the recreational, spectator, and spirit opportunities that collegiate athletics provides.

In keeping with NCAA Division III rules and philosophy,we wish to give our student-athletes every opportunity to succeed both in the classroom and in the athletic arena. Academic work is the backbone of the College and provides the foundation for our students' future successes. Athletics provide opportunities for participation and competition.

Whether a student-athlete is an All-American, a record-setter, or simply fulfilling a dream by playing on an intercollegiate team, the lifelong friendships that are forged and the life lessons of hard work, teamwork and leadership are ones that will last a lifetime and enhance his or her opportunities for success after graduation as well.

Financial support of the athletics program is crucial to maintaining the highest quality of experiences for our athletic teams. Owl Club membership dues and annual fund-raising events will contribute much needed dollars to the annual operating budget as well as to the creation of an endowment.

Owl Club Golf Tournament
Tuesday, August 4

Join us for the 2009 Owl Club Golf Tournament at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, Mass. Our guest of honor is longtime WSC soccer and golf coach John Kurty.

We hope to make the 2009 tournament the biggest and best ever as we move to a new venue, The Ranch Golf Club, just a few miles from the Westfield State College campus, which was named the “best public golf course in Massachusetts” by Golf Digest for 2007 and 2008.

Reunite with friends, teammates, and alumni, with all proceeds benefiting the Owl Club, which supports Westfield State College’s athletic programs. The tournament will be a scramble format, which allows golfers of all abilities to play in a fun and competitive setting.

Tee time is 12:00 noon. Please arrive to register and have lunch at 11:00 a.m. The $150 per person/$600 per foursome entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, and a buffet dinner and awards ceremony after the tournament. A cocktail hour will precede the dinner.

We are also offering a special deal for those interested in joining the Owl Club - purchase an Owl Club Membership for $100 and your entry fee for the tournament will be just $100!

Tee sponsors are available at $150 and a corporate sponsorship is available for $700 - this includes a foursome and tee sign.
