Our Mission:

The Owl Club strives to support the needs of our student-athletes through both financial support of the department, and through activities that build team spirit and the visibility and reputation of Westfield State College and its athletic programs.

Central to the Owl Club?s efforts on behalf of the Westfield State College athletics program is an underlying philosophy that athletics is an integral part of the college experience, as a participant on the field, court, track or in the pool, and also to the entire College community for the recreational, spectator, and spirit opportunities that collegiate athletics provides.

In keeping with NCAA Division III rules and philosophy,we wish to give our student-athletes every opportunity to succeed both in the classroom and in the athletic arena. Academic work is the backbone of the College and provides the foundation for our students? future successes. Athletics provide opportunities for participation and competition.

Whether a student-athlete is an All-American, a record-setter, or simply fulfilling a dream by playing on an intercollegiate team, the lifelong friendships that are forged and the life lessons of hard work, teamwork and leadership are ones that will last a lifetime and enhance his or her opportunities for success after graduation as well.

Financial support of the athletics program is crucial to maintaining the highest quality of experiences for our athletic teams. Owl Club membership dues and annual fund-raising events will contribute much needed dollars to the annual operating budget as well as to the creation of an endowment.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Thanks to all who supported the 2nd Annual Owl Club Golf Tournament on August 4.  We had a terrific day, with 91 players, and we doubled the amount raised from the previous year to support Westfield State College athletics.

Your support helped to make this a great day for all of our golfers and dinner guests, and will help to make it a great season for all of our student-athletes, who are directly impacted by your generosity.

With the support of alumni, parents, and friends, Westfield State’s student-athletes have won back-to-back Smith Cups, representing the best overall athletic program in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference.
