The  Westfield State EMT Program strives to support their students. We now offer a full line of continuing education courses at affordable prices. Certificates of completion will be awarded to students at the completion of the class.

$25 Haz- Mat Table Top Exercise

This reviews Medical Incident Command, Rapid Triage, and Assessment done all in real time. Within the four hours a review of Incident Command, and SMART Triage is reviewed prior to the table top exercise. This course ends with a 20 minute review of lessons learned.

This con ed covers the basics of disease, pathogens, disease transmission that EMS providers are exposed to on a daily basis. It also has an HIV component with current up to date statistics on HIV in Massachusetts and across the country.

Principles of the Golden Period are discussed along with Patient Assessment and Rapid Extrication. Extra skills covered include options on C Spine Immobilization, application of the Horse Collar, and KED. The practical component includes extrication out of a vehicle.

This course goes above and beyond the basics, and allows the EMT-B to assist the Paramedic at their fundamental skills. Topics include Application of the Cardiac Monitor, Blood Glucose Monitoring, Albuterol inhalation, IV Therapy. Most of the proceeds of this course go towards supplies used within the course.
