SCHOLARSHIPS
Westfield State College Foundation Scholarships

A number of WSC private scholarships available each year to continuing (currently enrolled) students

Scholarship applications are available in March and due back in April
-
Applications available in the Student Administrative Services Center located at 333 Western Avenue
-
Scholarship committee reviews completed applications and sends decisions to all applicants
-
Approximately 50 scholarships are awarded each year

Awards range from $500-$1,500
Westfield State College Presidential Merit Scholarships
-
College-funded, merit-based grants that recognize outstanding academic achievement of selected new first-year students attending Westfield State College.

Limited number of Presidential Merit Scholarships awarded annually and are awarded on a first come basis
-
First-year applicants who are Massachusetts residents and meet the necessary criteria will be considered automatically
-
Criteria is: SAT-I score of 1200 (Critical Reading and Math combined) or higher; and
-
High school cumulative grade point average at the time of acceptance to the college of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (and/or class rank in the top 25%)

Presidential merit scholarships, which equal that annual cost of tuition, are renewable each year for a maximum of 4 years (8 semesters) by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative average; or by maintaining a 3.00 cumulative average with at least one Honors course completed per semester
Paul Tsongas Scholarship

State-funded merit-based grant that recognize the outstanding academic achievement of selected new first-year students at Westfield State College

Limited number of Tsongas Scholarships are awarded annually and are awarded on a first come basis

First-year applicants who are Massachusetts residents and meet the necessary criteria will be considered automatically

Criteria is: High school cumulative grade point average at the time of acceptance to the college of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale (and/or class rank in the top 10%); and
-
SAT-I score of 1200 (Critical Reading and Math combined) or higher, but students with lower SAT-I scores may also qualify if they earn a minimum grade of B+ (3.5) in at least two advanced placement/honors courses

Tsongas Scholarship, which equals that annual cost of tuition plus fees, are renewable each year for a maximum of 4 years (8 semesters) by maintaining a 3.30 cumulative average on a 4.0 scale.
