SHORT-TERM STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM
Westfield State College’s new education abroad program offers short-term study abroad opportunities during the semester breaks (January and May each year). Developed and led by Westfield’s faculty, all courses carry credit and combine academic rigor with exploration abroad. Apply now to earn academic credit while traveling in such locations as Belize, Kenya, India, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Vietnam, Costa Rica, Greece or Israel.
EXCHANGE PROGRAMS
Exchange Programs for a semester or for an academic year in China are now available to Westfield State College students. The college has Exchange Agreements with two institutions in China:
Capital Normal University in Beijin and United International College in Zhuhai (a 70-minute ferry ride outside of Hong Kong). View poster
Beginning with the fall semester of 2009, accepted students remain as WSC enrolled students and pay their normal tuition and fees to Westfield State College; students are responsible for transportation and living expenses and pay room, board and textbook fees to the host institution. Student financial aid eligibility is continued at Westfield State College.
Students interested in a semester or year exchange in China should consider taking
LCHI 0101 Introductory Chinese.
In the near future, the college is hopes to implement additional Exchange Programs in Ireland, Italy, and Costa Rica
STUDY ABROAD
Westfield State College is a member of the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), the Council for International Educational Exchange (CIEE), and is pursuing membership with other study abroad organizations. Students may choose from programs around the world for a semester, summer, or full academic year. Curricular options include intensive foreign language courses as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences, physical sciences, business, studio art and design, communication and marketing.

Studying abroad while sailing the globe is the unique invention of Semester at Sea and its predecessor programs. Since 1963, Semester at Sea has stayed true to their mission as an educational non-profit: the development of global understanding through life-changing international experiences.
Dublin Business School
The DBS Study Abroad Program is a rewarding international learning opportunity where eligible American undergraduates spend a semester or full academic year at Dublin Business School/DBS School of Arts, Ireland’s leading private college. The 16-week semester program includes: introductory course on Ireland, electives in a wide variety of disciplines, internships abroad, housing in an apartment or with an Irish family and two weekend field trips to enhance the classroom experience.
