INSTITUTE OF HOMELAND SECURITY
Action from Knowledge
Our vision is to become the regional authority on homeland security/law enforcement education and training; emphasizing applied programming and applied knowledge. To this end, we have adopted as our guiding principle:
"Action from Knowledge. Forging connections between knowledge development and its application in the workplace"
In light of the events of 9/11 and other such incidences, homeland security education has become a high priority and is viewed from a human resources perspective as added value in many occupations, including but not limited to: the police, firefighters, private and public utility companies, facilities management professionals (critical infrastructure), office managers, emergency medical personnel, hazmat technicians, federal security personnel and a host of others.
In service, career oriented education has never been more important
In the current global environment, the demand for those with expertise in homeland security and disaster management is growing rapidly.
