Westfield State College is bringing Community Education into the community. In our catalog, you will find a wide variety of personal enrichment, art, business, computer, and health and wellness classes taught by regional experts in their subjects. Most classes meet in the late afternoon, evenings or Saturdays. Some classes are on campus, others are offered at convenient community locations, and you can even learn from the convenience of your home with online courses. Certificate Programs:
If you are seeking a new career or wish to update your current knowledge, Community Education offers several professional development certificate programs, including an Addiction Counselor Education (A.C.E) program, an Emergency Management Training (E.M.T) Program Basic Course, and Online Certificate Programs.
Online Learning:
And if you prefer to study in the wee hours of the morning, take one of our many interactive, online classes or online certificate programs such as Medical Office Assistant, Home Inspection, or Medical Coding and Billing, offered in partnership with ed2go, Gatlin, the Course.
Learning In Retirement:
If you've moved on from your former career, are tired of puttering in the garden or volunteering, and still have an active mind, you are probably ready for one or more of our popular Learning in Retirement classes, specially designed for adults over 55. Classes run throughout the year.
College for Kids:
Come summer, we also offer the popular College for Kids Program. Designed for kids ages 5-16, College for Kids offers a variety of hands-on classes such as Becoming a naturalist, Babysitter Training, Chinese Culture, Web Page Design, Cartooning, Robotics, Photoshop, Yoga, Mud and Muck and much, much more.
Which ever class or program you choose, you are sure to spend a rewarding few hours, weeks or months in our new Community Education Program. Our commitment is to providing high quality, responsive and effective non-degree/non-credit education and training to the Pioneer Valley's adult and young learners.
