4 U.S. history courses; 1 World, and 1 Europe.
Or 3 U.S., 2 World, and 1 European history courses.
Or 2 U.S., 2 World, and 2 European history courses.

But you could NOT take five U.S. and just 1 from European or World history.

Acceptable combinations are 4-2, 3-3, 4-1-1, 3-2-1, or 2-2-2.
The History Dept. believes that history majors will benefit more from a broad study of history, rather than a narrow specialization in one area.

300 LEVEL COURSES: Students must complete three courses at the 300 level. Hist 302 counts as one of these. Do not wait until senior year to take your 300 level courses! Students are not allowed to take more than two independent studies. Students considering graduate school are strongly encouraged to take a foreign language.

Note: ENG 0296: The Vietnam War and LLIT 220: Studies in European Cultures: The Holocaust can count as 200-level history electives. LLIT 220 also fulfills a WSC core requirement (Literary and Philosophical Analysis.)

Total credits for the history major: 39
Total credits needed to graduate: 120
