WESTFIELD Ð Sophomore forward Gina Calenda (Warren, RI/Mt. Hope) and junior forward Erika Haaland (North Dartmouth, MA) scored goals to lead Rhode Island College to a 2-0 womenÕs soccer win over Westfield State Sept. 21. RIC improves to 4-2 while Westfield drops to 1-4.

 

Calenda scored the game-winning goal with 7:15 remaining in the first half with an assist from senior Kate Benevides (North Dighton, MA). Haaland tallied an insurance with in the 67th minute with an assist from sophomore Michaela Bileau (Woonsocket, RI).

 

RIC outshot the Owls, 15-9. Westfield goale Jen Cyr had 10 saves.
