Westfield State 159 – Simmons 124

            WESTFIELD – The Westfield State women’s swimming and diving team opened its season with a 159-124 victory over Simmons College on Oct. 30.

            Junior standout Vanessa Morton was a triple winner for Westfield, placing first in the 200 freestyle, the 100 butterfly, and the 100 freestyle.

            Also finishing first were: Rachel Webb (1000 freestyle), Lindsey Bartosz (50 backstroke and 100 backstroke), Katie Piquette (50 breaststroke), Marianne Wilson (diving), Melissa Blain (50 freestyle), Renee Kruszyna (500 freestyle), and Shannon McMahon (50 butterfly).
