SALEM - The Salem State menÕs soccer team exploded for
six goals for the second straight match en route to a conference opening 6-1
victory over Westfield State on Oct. 1 at the newly renovated Alumni Field.
The freshmen-laden Vikings (5-5), who scored six
second-half goals in their win over U-Mass Boston, received a pair of goals
from freshmen Saimir Zepaj (Peabody) and Yuti Kizaki, in addition to single
tallies from freshmen Jared Barbosa and Mihal Bifshas (Salem). Freshmen Leonard
Mlati and Zakaria Bougi each contributed a pair of assists.
WestfieldÕs Trevor Groves spoiled the home teamÕs
shutout when he knocked home a pass from goalie Rich Cambell at 66:06 for the
gameÕs final goal.
