Westfield State 5 Ð Plymouth State 1

 

WESTFIELD Ð Sophomore forward Megan Wolski (Plymouth) had three goals and an assist Ð all in the first half Ð to lead Westfield State to a 5-1 victory over Plymouth State in its Little East Conference field hockey opener Sept. 17.

 

It was the first win of the season for the 1-4 Owls. Plymouth State is now 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

 

The Owls stunned the Panthers with four first-half goals. Wolski scored four minutes into the game on a penalty stroke, then assisted on a goal by junior forward Shanna Litterst with 27:29 left in the first half.

 

Wolski then scored at the 15-minute mark and with 1:53 left in the half off a penalty corner.
