On behalf of the New Student and Parent Orientation program, welcome to Westfield State College!  Transfer Orientation at WSC is designed for you to maximize your time here to make your transition in the fall easier.  You will have an opportunity to meet with your academic advisor, interact with other new students, meet the orientation team, take a campus tour, get your ID and even stop in to check out the bookstore!

Our Transfer Orientation sessions are scheduled for Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19, 2008.  Your day is pre-selected for you based on your major.  You will be sent a mailing where you will find information from the Registrar's office indicating your specific date and time.  You will also find your personalized Transfer Student Course Registration Worksheet, the Transfer Orientation Schedule for the day as well as information about Online Student Services. 

Check-in is scheduled for the Wilson Hall foyer from 8:00-8:30am and 12:00-12:30pm based on your anticipated advising appointment.  Please be prompt.  At that time, you will pick up your new academic audit, take your ID picture, meet your Orientation Leader and find out your advisement schedule.  While you wait for your appointment, the orientation team will be available to assist you with any questions you have about life at WSC.  While the program is from 8:00 am-12:00 pm or 12:00 pm-4:00 pm, once you have completed your advising session and connected with the Orientation program, you are free to leave.  Please note:  We will have lunch available for you from 12:00-1:00pm in the Dining Commons.

Please fill out the Transfer Orientation Registration Form and the WSC Matriculation Form and return it to us by August 13, 2008.  In addition, please plan to attend this program without other friends, siblings or guests since we are unable to accommodate them during this program.

Directions to Westfield State College

Traveling interstate 91 to exit 9 Northbound or exit 8 Southbound (West Springfield/Westfield exit)

• Follow route 20 West.
• Continue approximately 6 miles to Westfield Center.
• Bear left around the rotary and take the first right onto Court St./Western Ave.
• WSC is located 4 miles on the right.
• Please park in the Commuter Lot (look for signs!) and walk to Wilson Hall

Travel Massachusetts Turnpike to exit 3 (Westfield)

• Bear right after tollgate onto Route 202.
• Continue approximately 2 miles to Intersection for route 20
• Take right at traffic light and continue on route 20 west (Franklin St) until you approach blinking yellow light.
• At light, turn left onto Lloyd’s Hill Road
• At top of hill, turn right onto Western Ave.
• WSC is located approximately 1 mile on right.

Please park in the Commuter Lot (look for signs!) and walk to Wilson Hall
