CAREER CENTER TEAM
The Westfield State College Career Center is staffed by a team of enthusiastic professionals with extensive experience in working effectively with students and alumni in the area of academic, personal and career development. The staff also reaches out to the community, creating partnerships with non-profit and for-profit employers to develop career and experiential education opportunities consistent with the needs and interests of our students and alumni and in support of the mission of the College.

MAUREEN MCCARTNEY, M.S.W., M.Ed.
Executive Director, Career Services & Experiential Education
Coordinator of the Washington Internship Program
Maureen has been with Westfield State College since 1983, holding administrative positions in the Office of the President and Student Affairs. Director of the Career Center since 1989, she also services as Campus Liaison for the Washington Center Internship Program and as adjunct faculty in the Department of Social Work. Maureen has an M.S.W. from the University of Connecticut, an M.Ed in Community Leadership and Development from Springfield College and a B.A. from Elms College. She also completed numerous graduate courses in Higher Education Administration at the University of Massachusetts and the 2004 Executive Leadership Program for the Affiliated Chamber of Greater Springfield.
JUNIOR DELGADO, M.Ed., B.A.
Director & Coordinator of Employer Services and Senior Programs
Junior joined the College in 2000 after working as a Spanish teacher in local schools and in Higher Education as an Admissions Officer. He earned his B.A. from Clark University and an M.Ed in Educational Administration from Westfield State College.
GISELLE ABED, M.Ed., B.A.
Assistant Director & Coordinator of Experiential Education
Giselle started working in the Office of Career Services at Westfield State in 2007. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Hartwick College and her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Giselle oversees the Cooperative Education Program and monitors student progress. She also provides career and graduate school advising.
