A MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS
Welcome to Westfield State College!
As the College continues its long history of achievements, the Division of Student Affairs dedicates itself to providing a supportive and caring environment for students inside and outside of the classroom. We hope to offer an academic atmosphere where students can excel in their educational and career pursuits. The College is more than an educational institution; it is an academic community where faculty, staff, and students exchange ideas and work together for the advancement of the College.
The Offices of Student Affairs stand ready to assist students in their needs, interests and concerns. The Division of Student Affairs consists of Career Services, Counseling Services, Veterans Services, Health Services, Conduct Office, Commuter Affairs, Campus Center, New Student Orientation, Substance Abuse Prevention, Varsity and Intramural Athletics, Residential Life, and Public Safety. Each department will be sponsoring numerous activities and programs to broaden the development of students during the year. Students should also take advantage of such programs as National Student Exchange, Cooperative Education, First Year Experience and internships.
I also invite you to become an active member of the campus community by participating in the Student Government Association and the over 50 clubs and organizations on campus. There are also a variety of support programs available to assist you in your academic, psychological, and spiritual interests.
Westfield State College is the sum total of its students, faculty and staff. Your involvement and participation will be important in determining the excellence of the College in future years. I look forward to seeing you during the academic year.
Sincerely,

Susan J. LaMontagne
Interim Vice President, Student Affairs
