Many commuter students are not aware of the many services available to them on campus. Below is a sampling of those services.

Food Services
There are many places to eat on campus. Did You Know that all of them accept flex dollars?
Flex dollars are a declining cash balance on your student I.D. card.
They can be purchased at the cafeteria office, and they are sold at a discount.

Parking Services
Commuter Parking
Commuter parking is available by purchasing a decal from Public Safety for $75. The lots are next to Wilson Hall and behind Ely. Did you Know that there is now additional parking for commuters behind Juniper Park Elementary School? Overflow parking is in South Lot. Address specific questions to Public Safety, 572-5262.

Health Services
Health Services is located in Scanlon Hall. Did you Know that every student pays a fee that entitles them to use Health Services? A registered Nurse and Full-Time Nurse Practitioner is available. Hours are M-F 8-4. Closed on Weekends. If you have questions for Health Services you can call 572-5415.

Career Services
Career Services is located in Lammers Hall Annex. Did you Know that they have a computer program that all students can use as a guide to which careers they might be good at? They also have reference materials on further education and study guides for tests, such as the GRE and the LSAT. Career counseling is available by appointment. All services are free of charge. 572-5206

Counseling Services
The Counseling Center is located in Lammers Hall Annex. Did you Know that it provides free confidential counseling for all students? Counseling is given by three professional therapists and a staff of graduate interns who work under supervised conditions. Issues commonly discussed in counseling are depression, anxiety, homesickness, eating disorders, substance abuse, and time management. Call for an Appointment, 572-5790.

Commuter Information Boards
Did you Know that Commuter information boards are located in the Wilson Hall Lounge, Ely Campus Center, and behind Wilson Hall in the new picnic grove area? All commuter information boards are updated weekly.

Academic Services
Student Adminstrative Services
Did you Know that the Business Office and the Offices of Admission, Financial Aid, and the Registrar are all combined in one office located at 333 Western Avenue, 572-5218.

Tutoring Center
The Tutoring Center is located on the second floor of Wilson Hall. Did you Know that they offer FREE help in every department? Stop by today if you need help with a class.

Reading and Writing Center
The Reading and Writing Center helps students, staff, and faculty at Westfield State College further develop their understanding of reading and writing. Did you Know that they offer help on everything from understanding a complicated textbook, drafts, drafting resumes, writing research papers, to taking the teacher's exam? They are located in Parenzo Hall, Room 218. You can call 572-5569 to schedule a free half-hour appointment.

Miscellaneous Services

Bookstore
Did you Know that the bookstore sells textbooks as well as educational supplies, software, leisure reading, apparel and gifts? It is open Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Except on Holiday Weekends. The bookstore can be reached at 572-5657.

Computer Labs
Did you Know that Westfield State College has both PC and Mac labs? The PC labs are located on the first and fourth floors of Wilson Hall, in the Basement of Bates, lower level of 333 Western Ave., second floor Woodward Center, and on the second floor of the Ely Library. The Mac labs are on the third floor of Ely. They are all free for student use when no class is scheduled.

Ely Library
The library is in Ely, and contains many study areas. Did you Know that it also has a computer lab? The library can be reached at 572-5231.

Wellness Center
The Wellness Center is located in the basement of Ely. Did you Know that many different kinds of aerobics and exercise classes are offered each semester? There is a small fee for use. The Wellness Center can be reached at 572-5500.

Bus Service
Did you Know that your student ID gives you free ridership with PVTA from Westfield to Holyoke and Springfield? Just show your full-time ID to the bus driver. Schedules are available at the Campus Center Service Window for the R10 and B23 routes.
