MISSION STATEMENT
The Department of Academic Achievement provides students with the tools to explore academic opportunities as well as to plot strategies for continued growth. The staff of the Department of Academic Achievement has the growth and development of the student as its primary mission, and serves the needs and concerns of the student with the utmost priority.

CARLTON PICKRON, Ed.D. - Dean of Academic Retention
Carlton has been Westfield State College since 1983, holding administrative positions in Academic Advising, Urban Education and the Office of the President. He serves on various community board and committees, including the Walt Disney College World Program Advisory Board. Carlton has a B.S., M.Ed., C.A.S. from Springfield College and an Ed.D from the University of Massachusetts.

NANCY GOODNISS, A.S. - Support Staff
Nancy has been at Westfield State College since 1995. A native of Westfield, she received her A.S. from Holyoke Community College. Prior to coming to Westfield State, she was project coordinator at the East Mountain Head Injury Center and worked for the City of Westfield.
